Dryer Vent Cleaning
Each unit has a dryer vent consisting of an solid metal duct that runs from the utility room vertically, through the rear unit wall, through the attic, to the roof. The outlet of this vent is capped with a roof louver which screens the vent from view and protects the vent from the elements. Since each individual unit has its own dryer vent the vent is defined as a limited common element. The maintenance of this property is the responsibility of the individual homeowner.
Lint build up can cause poor performance of laundry appliances and may cause dryers to exhibit symptoms of failure where the appliance would function properly if the vent was clear. Because of the design of the vent, frequent cleaning is recommended.
Services may be provided by chimney sweeps, duct cleaning companies or any other service provider who has the ability to clean ductwork.
